[SPOT'N]

About:

[SPOT’N] is a mobile and web platform designed to help skateboarders discover, share, and navigate the best skate spots in their city. Whether you’re hunting for smooth ledges, perfect stair sets, or hidden gems, [SPOT’N] connects skaters with real-time updates, community reviews, and GPS navigation. Built by skaters for skaters, [SPOT’N] makes it easy to find safe, "legal", and skateable locations — and to contribute your own discoveries to keep the scene alive.

Project Goals

  • Superior UI/UX: Make it fast, clean, and highly visual with no clunky map interactions.
  • Verified Spots: Google maps verification to direct user to the spots geo-coordinates.
  • Skill Variety: Add spots and parks that allow users of all skill levels to benefit from the product.

Pain Points

  • Lack of Trusted, Up-to-Date Spot Information - Skaters often waste time traveling to spots that are outdated, demolished, or constantly monitored by security. Current apps or online lists frequently lack updates and reliability, leading to frustration and missed opportunities.
  • No Community Feedback or Real-Time Reports - Most platforms don’t offer community-sourced updates like skateability conditions, crowds, or security presence. Without real-time feedback, skaters can’t confidently plan their sessions or assess a spot’s current usability.
  • Poor Spot Discovery Experience for New Areas - Skaters can’t confidently plan their sessions without real-time feedback. Exploring new cities or neighborhoods can be limiting due to the lack of intuitive search, filters (e.g., ledges, gaps, rails), or map-based browsing. Skaters need a more curated, visually engaging way to discover hidden gems wherever they go.
